The Pupil Premium (PP) is additional funding given to schools and academies to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It was first introduced in April 2011. Since then, the amount that schools and academies receive has increased. Schools and academies will receive funding based on the number of pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years. There is also an allocation for children of service personnel. The funding allocation for each eligible primary aged pupil for 2016-17 is £1,320 and £1,900 for each Looked After Child. There is also an allocation of £300 for children of Service Personnel.
At Manaccan School we are committed to raising achievement for pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium and always remain aware that eligibility for funding does not equal low ability. The impact of the funding is measured termly by the Keskowethyans MAT Curriculum Committee when it monitors performance data.
Manaccan School will receive £5,280 for the year 2016-2017 for three pupils.
