Welcome to our School
A place for our children to enjoy their childhood and develop a love of learning
inspired by quality teaching in preparation for our changing world.
Manaccan CP School is situated on the Lizard Peninsula in a delightful area of outstanding natural beauty.
The countryside and coastline offer a wealth of educational opportunities for the study of wildlife,
geography, and geology. There is also the opportunity for work on theHelfordRiver.
The main building of the school is a Victorian building circa 1896. At its height there were 114 pupils
taught in the two classrooms, and children were educated here until they reached 14 years old.
The main building has been modernised and extended over recent years. Outside facilities include a playground
and a school garden of approximately ¼ acre. In addition, thanks to the generosity of the local community,
the school has access to a playing field complete with two superb tennis/netball
courts and a small pavilion with toilets, showers and kitchen facilities.
Manaccan CP School prides itself on providing a warm, welcoming, and caring environmet in which every child can feel
happy, safe, secure and valued. Children are encouraged to enjoy school life to the full, to respond to the needs of others,
to be hardworking, independent learners who take pride in their work and are praised for their efforts.
At its heart is the school’s commitment to raising standards. The governors and staff strive to build on the school’s
successes, and welcome the involvement of parents in its endeavours to meet the needs of the children,
nurture their individual strengths, and lay down firm foundations for future life.
The school capitalises on its strong links with the local community and beyond.
